Investigating - We are aware of an issue affecting web auth login attempts for Ford/Lincoln vehicles and are currently investigating the root cause.
What this means for you: - If you’re using our mobile SDKs, both Android and iOS are fully supported and working. No action is needed. - If you’re relying on web-based authentication, this flow is not available at the moment. We recommend transitioning to our mobile SDK if applicable.
We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience.

Investigating - We are aware of an issue affecting GM vehicles and are currently investigating the root cause. This issue may be causing stale data for signals such as plug state, charge state, and charge voltage. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience.

Identified - We'd like to make you aware of a temporary change in signal availability affecting European Volkswagen Group vehicles (CUPRA, SEAT, Skoda, and VW) . For vehicles that were connected without the control_charge permission, requests for the Charge.ChargeLimits and Charge.ChargeTimers signals will return a VEHICLE_NOT_CAPABLE error for a limited period of time.
This affects only those two signals. All other signals on these vehicles continue to work normally, and no action is needed on your end.
We are working with VW urgently to get this restored. Access to Charge.ChargeLimits and Charge.ChargeTimers will be automatically restored for these vehicles in the future, with no reconnection required. Vehicles connected with the control_charge permission are unaffected and will continue to receive both signals throughout.

Resolved -
On July 7, 2026, Volkswagen Group's connected-vehicle platform experienced an outage affecting Volkswagen, Škoda, SEAT/CUPRA, and Audi vehicles in Europe. Smartcar saw two waves of elevated errors from VW's API: 09:00–10:00 UTC and 12:00–15:00 UTC, with peak impact between 13:00–14:00 UTC.
Elevated errors recurred on July 8 (10:00–11:00 UTC) and July 9 (05:00–12:00 UTC) as Volkswagen's platform stabilized. Service has operated normally since July 10, 00:00 UTC.
During the incident, customers may have experienced:
- Delayed or missing webhook events — charging and battery signals (e.g. state of charge) were temporarily unavailable, so scheduled webhook deliveries were reduced for affected vehicles. Data delivery resumed automatically as VW recovered. - Errors on live API requests — requests for charging, battery, and location data may have returned upstream errors; cached data remained available. - Failed charge commands — start/stop charging requests had a high failure rate during the peak window.
No action is required. Vehicle connections were not affected, and no re-authentication is needed.
