Monitoring
After completing our investigation into the GM outage, we’ve identified that authentication has changed. We've implemented a solution in our mobile SDKs similar to what we introduced for Ford vehicles earlier in 2024.
For mobile applications using Smartcar, we already have a solution in place: leveraging our mobile SDKs. Once the mobile SDK is properly integrated into your app, new connections for GM vehicles should succeed without issue. Vehicles that are already connected do not require immediate action and should continue functioning normally. If reauthentication is needed in the future, it should proceed as expected, provided the mobile SDK has been integrated.
We're committed to continue investing in reliable solutions for web based authentication and will share more as soon as we have a clear path forward. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at support@smartcar.com.
