Rivian: MFA Requirement Announcement
Incident Report for Smartcar Brand Reliability
Monitoring
Starting December 13th, Rivian will enforce MFA for all accounts, and the option to disable this feature will no longer be available. According to Rivian’s announcement, once MFA is enabled, we anticipate that connections will remain valid for 6 months.
What this means for vehicle owners:

- Following this change on December 13th, vehicle owners that currently don't have MFA enabled will need to reauthenticate their Rivian
vehicles through Smartcar Connect.
- From that point, each connection should remain valid for 6 months.
- After the initial 6-month period, vehicle owners will need to reauthorize their vehicle through Smartcar Connect every 6 months to maintain
connectivity.
