This incident has been resolved. For any vehicles still experiencing authentication failed errors, reauthenticating the vehicle through Smartcar Connect should resolve the issue.

A fix has been implemented, and CAPTCHA has now been added to the Connect flow for BMW/MINI vehicles. Log in attempts are successfully processing again, and we will continue to monitor the results closely.

We’ve identified the issue: BMW/MINI has introduced a new CAPTCHA challenge that must be completed to finalize the connected services login process. To address this, we’re developing a solution to integrate a CAPTCHA step into the Smartcar Connect flow for BMW/MINI sessions. We’ll share another update as soon as our solution is deployed.
